Joyboy Media (Pty) Ltd ("Joyboy Media", "we", "us") is a digital marketing agency registered in the Republic of South Africa. • Financial information: invoice details and payment records (we do not store card details)
• Usage data: analytics data such as pages visited and time on site (collected via Google Analytics, where applicable)

We collect this information directly from you when you contact us via WhatsApp, email, or our website, and through the ongoing delivery of our services.

3. Why We Collect and Use Your Information

We process your personal information for the following purposes:

• To respond to your enquiries and provide our marketing services
• To set up and manage your digital marketing campaigns
• To send invoices and manage payments
• To communicate updates, reports, and strategy recommendations
• To improve and develop our services
• To comply with applicable South African laws and regulations

Our legal basis for processing is primarily the performance of a contract with you, your consent (where applicable), and our legitimate business interests.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information with:

• Third-party service providers who assist us in delivering services (e.g. cloud storage, email platforms, analytics tools) — these parties are required to process your data only as instructed and in accordance with POPIA
• Platform operators such as Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and Google when managing advertising campaigns on your behalf

5. How Long We Keep Your Information

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law. Client records are kept for a minimum of 5 years for accounting and legal compliance purposes. Marketing data and campaign records are retained for the duration of the service agreement plus 12 months.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. These measures include secure communication channels, access controls, and regular review of our data handling practices. In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in harm to you, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as required by POPIA.

7. Your Rights as a Data Subject

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information
• Delete your personal information (subject to legal retention requirements)
• Object to the processing of your personal information
• Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa

8. Cookies and Website Analytics

Optional analytics and advertising measurement are disabled by default. No Google or Meta measurement script is requested until you choose Accept analytics and advertising measurement. Acceptance enables Google Analytics, Google Ads measurement and the Meta Pixel; advertising personalisation remains disabled. Choosing Reject analytics and advertising measurement keeps those scripts disabled on future page loads. Use the always-available Analytics choices control to review or change your choice.
